What is going on in my home state of Colorado? Known for its political orneriness, there seems to be a concerted effort to get the nation's attention. Three examples:

-- Two Colorado radio DJs were suspended for playing a Dixie Chicks song.

Country station KKCS has suspended two disc jockeys for playing the Dixie Chicks, violating a ban imposed after the group criticized President Bush. full story==>>

-- Colorado is importing mosquito-eating fish to control the West Nile virus. They say they'll be real careful where they introduce this foreign fish.That can't possibly have any bad side effects, right? Oh, and there's only been three horses and a crow found with West Nile.

The El Paso County Board of Health's decision to add the controversial weapon to its mosquito-fighting arsenal comes as agencies across the state combat the threat of West Nile virus with a spirited search-and-destroy mission. full story==>>

-- Aron Ralston, who took off his own arm and walked into the ER on his own, wants to get back to climbing ASAP..

Aron Ralston, the trapped rock climber who was forced to cut off his own arm to free himself from the deadly grip of a massive boulder, is recovering from surgery Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction Colorado. Donna Ralston says she believes this ordeal will not diminish her son's passion for climbing, Rick Sallinger from the CBS Denver station KCNC reports.
