Bryan and Maggie

A random search on Google for "Maggie and Bryan":
Maggie came into the shelter as a stray. She was matted, dirty and very sad. She loved attention, and would light up whenever anyone stopped at her cage, but what she really wanted was a home with people that loved her. A groomer volunteered to clean her up. She got a good bath and haircut to remove all the mats and dirt. This clearly helped her to feel better.

One day Bryan came in with his family. They saw her and, as Bryan put it, "It was love at first sight." While they were waiting for the adoption process to be completed Maggie's new family came to visit her every day at the shelter. The whole family grew closely attached to her even before she went home. "I'm looking forward to making her a part of our family," said Bryan.

Maggie went to her new home. We know she and her new family will be very happy together.

Cocksucker

People say that there's no male equivalent to the word 'bitch'. It's a double edge sword; both fighting words and a compliment - often said in passing and often cause for a long meeting with human resources.

I submit; cocksucker. An easy fight picker, but an easy way to get a laugh, as well.
The term can refer to a crafty negotiate or a rat-bastard, depending on inflection.

Try it. Carefully.

WE WENT TO WAR TO BOOST THE WHITE MALE EGO

Norman Mailer
With their dominance in sport, at work and at home eroded, Bush thought white American men needed to know they were still good at something. That's where Iraq came in...

Exeunt: lightning and thunder, shock and awe. Dust, ash, fog, fire, smoke, sand, blood, and a good deal of waste now moves to the wings. The stage, however, remains occupied. The question posed at curtain-rise has not been answered. Why did we go to war? If no real weapons of mass destruction are found, the question will keen in pitch.

Damn, Gary Hart.

Damn him for shooting himself in the foot with his penis 15 years ago. He's a brilliant thinker and a capable politician who got caught sleeping around when that sort of thing still killed a candidacy. It's too bad, because he could have done so much for the US, had he not been so foolish as to dare the press to catch him cheating.

I just listed to him on CSPAN give a 10 minute interview about his blog and about what a perfect medium a blog is for communicating with constituents.
Senator Hart's Blog.

He can't think he could possibly get the Democratic nomination this year, so I really do wonder what he's doing? I think he wants a cabinet position in the next administration. It'll be interesting to see how he uses the attention.

DOSHA

My very first job, as a 14 yr-old in Colorado, was in a veterinary clinic. People never know that to do with dead pets, so they usually just drop them by the vet's office. We'd then hold them in a freezer and the state/county would pick them up ever week or so.

So, when I read this story about the that dog was run over, shot in the head and then placed in a freezer - my first thought was of the teenage intern/part-timer that found her trying to get out of the freezer..

"Dosha, a 10-month-old of mixed breeding, escaped from her owner's garden in Clearlake, California. As she made her way along a busy freeway, she was hit by a car and left for dead by the side of the road."

How many at CNN were fired?

And sadly, this is like the 5th time in a coupe of years that someone has posted a Bob Hope obit. (he's not dead)

"It's a problem if you can look at a woman's jeans and know what year she graduated from college."

THE DAILY PLANET

I've seen this circulated a few times. I like it:

The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country.

The New York Times is read by people who think they run the country.

The Washington Post is read by people who think they should run the country.

USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country but don't really understand the Washington Post. They do, however, like their smog statistics shown in pie charts.

The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn't mind running the country, if they could spare the time, and if they didn't have to leave L.A. to do it.

The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country and they did a far superior job of it, thank you very much.

The New York Daily News is read by people who aren't too sure who's running the country, and don't really care as long as they can get a seat on the train.

The New York Post is read by people who don't care who's running the country either, as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated.

The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren't sure there is a country, or that anyone is running it; but whoever it is, they oppose all that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are handicapped minority
feministic atheist dwarfs, who also happen to be illegal aliens from ANY country or galaxy as long as they are democrats.

The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country, but need the baseball scores.

Thanks, Dad.

NetFlix Understands Relationships

I got two NetFlix emails today, one for her and one for me:

The first in a 10-hour documentary on the first 42 Presidents!

Then five minutes, later:

I don't know. I think it's black-and-white.

NetFlix keeps everyone happy.
