Siena

We're on vacation in Siena, Italy.
We rented an old *old* house with 6 other friends and are enjoying a lot of wine.

I can't stop laughing at the frogs. There's a huge, old pool next to our house that has loads of LOUD frogs. In the middle of the night they mate. LOUDLY. The morning after our first night, Jen asked if anyone else "heard a monkey fighting a duck last night?" That's exactly what they sound like. And though I know they are frogs making it, I keep feeling really bad for the duck. I think that's the fine Italian wine.

Spent a few days driving the back roads from Chapel Hill to Brooklyn. You could do it in a day, if you wanted to. We took four and didn't go much above 45mph.

Highlights:
- The SeeSea Motel in Kill Devil Hills, VA - The worst smelling motel in America
- The 17 year-old who recommended, with great authority, the SeeSea Motel, beacuse it "had everything you'd need in a cheap motel." To which I wonder now, what did a 17-yr-old local's needs for a cheap motel.
- More old houses, new stripmalls, tine churches and loads of locals
- Deer, deer, and more deer
- Thinking we'd "cut across" Brooklyn, cause it "would be a lot quick"
- The raw, hours-old chicken on Linden Parkway in Brooklyn - 85 degrees. That's a smell that'll stick with you!
