I didn't suck
I played gold last weekend IN A TOURNAMENT.
Maggie and I went back to my folks' home town of Quincy, IL. My uncle Mike has a fund to support the catholic school all the elder Masons attended. The Mike Mason Fund Golf Tournament had a special guest this year: PGA Master golfer DA Weibring.
He's 7th on the the tour right now, and took a day to come play for his alma mater with classmates... and me!
Here's the important part: I didn't embarrass myself or (importantly) my Dad. My swing was ok, I had a few very nice holes, and I even made one or two cheer inducing shots.
Yeah, St. Francis saw $20,000 in revenue, and, sure, I won a professional poker set at the auction, and, ok, Maggie and my Mom saw a lot of lovely homes while I (and here's the important part) did not at all suck.
And now I'll retire.
