Gun Control

It's been a while since I gave up hope for real gun control. There are lots of battles to fight, and this isn't on the top of my wish list.

Then, it's stories like this that make me think, "Oh, thank god we didn't extend the assault weapons ban."

FIVE DEAD IN HUNTING DISPUTE
Alleged gunman arrested after fight over tree stand.
...The incident happened when two hunters were returning to their rural cabin on private land in Sawyer County and saw the suspect in one of their tree stands, County Chief Deputy Tim Zeigle said. A confrontation and shooting followed.

It’s not known who shot first, Zeigle said.

Both men were wounded and one of them radioed back to the cabin. Other hunters responded and were shot, he said. Some of the victims may have shot back at the suspect, Zeigle said.

The suspect was “sniping” at the victims with a SKS assault-style rifle, Zeigle said. He was “chasing after them and killing them,” he said.

So, we couldn't pass a crappy, loop-hole-ridden assault weapons ban.

Gotta hand it the NRA; they get the job done.

It would have been much better if the guy had used a bolt-action rifle or a pistol to do his killin'.

Indeed it would have been, as then perhaps it'd be 3 or 4 he got, as it at least might have slowed him down.
